Did you know - by 2016 you must be BIM compliant to work on Public Sector Projects? 28 August 2013

Are you Level 2 BIM Compliant yet?

By 2016 the Government have mandated that everyone working on public sector building projects from the main contractor, to sub-contractors, to the supply chain must be Level 2 BIM compliant.

LSBU BIM

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a new technology as well as a new way of working.

Instead of everyone involved on a building project using different (and sometimes incompatible) software packages, everyone uses a shared information pool based on the model.

This way of working offers absolute control over a project;

  • it makes life easier
  • it reduces waste
  • and it improves consistency, reliability and quality which is why it has been mandated.

On average BIM saves 20% on every project – meaning that you effectively get another project free.

BIM Breakfast Briefing 10th September 2013: Find out more about becoming BIM compliant.

Becoming compliant isn’t as hard as you think and London South Bank University can help.
